Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve seen a lot of companies selling Moroccan oil. Is Argan oil the same thing?
No. There are a number of Moroccan or argan oil products on the market, however these are generally modified argan oil products. Whilst argan oil is a central ingredient in these products they may also contain unnecessary additives including silicones and fragrances. Pure Argan oil is a single unfiltered ingredient, making it more versatile and safe for use on hair as well as skin and nails.
Generally, products that are labeled as argan oil 'treatments' are not pure argan oil. Whilst they may be cheaper, or better recognised, we at Atom feel that by compromising its purity, these products reduce the many positive effects of argan oil.
Is Atom Argan Oil organic?
Yes. At Atom we only use 100% naturally organic argan oil in all our products. All of our oil has been personally sourced and is certified by the organic certification body, Ecocert.
Are Atom products tested on animals?
No. All of our products are 100% Vegan and Cruelty Free. This is something that we at Atom are not only extremely conscious of, but also very passionate about. Our range does not contain any animal by-products and will never be tested on animals – only our human friends!
I'm pregnant. Can I use Atom Argan Oil?
Yes. Atom’s Pure Argan Oil is naturally organic, meaning it is free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances or dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs and triclosan.
We actually encourage pregnant and new mums to use our Argan Oil as it is extremely high in essential fatty acids that help to prevent a loss of skin elasticity and avoid stretch marks. Atom’s Pure Argan Oil is also safe for bubs and can alleviate dry and irritated skin and scalps.
I've seen different brands of Argan Oil being sold for a lot cheaper, why should I buy Atom’s?
Atom Boutique ensures that our supplier (Women’s Co-operative) receives the highest return for their labour. This ensures that the local community retains a vital financial interest in their local industry and contributes to keeping Argan Oil the unique property of Morocco.
Cheap Argan Oil should have you questioning if it is what it claims to be. Pure Argan oil is rare and difficult to extract, it takes several hours to produce one litre of the oil making, and no one should be able to sell the real thing for a much lower price.
Hint: Be wary of Argan Oil sold in clear or plastic bottles. Both make the oil deteriorate, and any producer of quality Argan Oil wouldn't store their oil in anything other than a dark amber glass bottle.
